Walton-on-Thames Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice offers affordable, professional counselling and psychotherapy for adults.
Given the government guidance to stay at home due to the coronavirus, we are unable to continue to see clients face-to-face, but are now offering client sessions via Zoom or Whatsapp at a reduced fee and also offer a free initial assessment.
We are a team of counsellors and psychotherapists with a passion for providing easily accessible counselling at an affordable price. We will provide counselling in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential and welcoming space for you to discuss your situation.
You have made the first step in searching for a counsellor, this can feel like a difficult step to take, and we understand that choosing the right counsellor is vital for you to experience effective therapy. We believe that a comfortable and relaxed environment can contribute to a positive experience of therapy.
There are several reasons people choose therapy, but the most important reason is yours, so rather than compare to a long list of explanations as to why people may come to therapy, perhaps the next step is for you to contact us so we can listen to your reasons and then if you like our approach we can tailor the therapy together to suit your needs.
My background and training is in integrative therapy. I take the view that there is no single formulaic approach that can successfully cater to every client’s needs. I will work with you to provide a bespoke individual therapy plan. I have no expectations as to how your therapy should be, and we can use a variety of techniques to help you make sense of how current concerns could perhaps be related to earlier or present life experiences.
I previously worked in the NHS before establishing the Walton-on-Thames Counselling & Psychotherapy Practice and have experience working with clients relating to anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, domestic abuse, health-related issues, loss, low confidence/self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma and work-related issues.
- FdSc Integrative Counselling, University of Greenwich
- NCFE Counselling Skills Theory/Interpersonal Skills Levels 1-3, Guildford College
- Certificate in Health & Social Care, Open University
- Diploma in Human Resources, University of Melbourne
We also have a network of counsellors that are currently working in different locations within the county of Surrey.
We tailor the therapy to meet your individual needs and allow the therapy to flow in whichever direction is needed for you. We view therapy as a collaborative partnership within the therapeutic relationship.
We offer a free initial telephone or face to face assessment.
Sessions are usually weekly and in our first session we can work out what suits you best in relation to short term or long term therapy with no obligation after the initial consultation.
The cost of a 1 hour session is £45 for weekday appointments between 9am and 5pm, for evening sessions 6pm onwards and Saturday morning sessions the cost of a 1hr session is £55. Concessionary rates are also available.
When possible we would appreciate 24hrs notice of cancellation, otherwise we will require full payment for the missed session.
